Mehmood : Sir Mehmood is considered as one of the most respectable comedy artist of Bollywood films . Though Mehmood saab served mostly as comedian in the bollywood movies, He was the lead actor in the movie “Kunwara baap”. The famous song “Hum kale hai to kya hua dilwale hai” was picturised on him in the movie Gumnaam. Though the Comedy king of Bollywood is not alive today , But India will remember him for his service to the Indian Film industry.
Jagdeep : The man who become world famous for his role as “Surma Bhopali” in the Bollywood Block buster of all time “Sholay”. Though a very small but very important role played by him is good enough to include his name in this list. Lately he appeared in the movie Andaz apna apna.
Asrani : ” Hum angrejo ke zamane ka jailer . haha. “ Do we need to say anything more ? this is the most popular ever indian comedy dialogue from the movie Sholay filmed on Comedian Asrani. Asrani is his surname. Do we know his Real Name ? na. But Asrani will be remembered for his various roles he played in hundres of bollywood movies as well as gujarati movies. In fact he played lead roles in many gujarati films along with Naresh kanodia, kiran kumar and aruna irani. Famous gujarati song ” Hu amdavad no Riksha walo 999 number walo , Amdavad ….. Amdavad batavu chalo ” was sung by Top Bollywood Singer Kishore kumar and was picturised on comedy actor Asrani.
Om Prakash : Though a very senior charactor actor , he played comic role in the film Chupke Chupke which also starred Dharmendra , Sharmila tagore and Amitabh bachchan.
Paresh Raval : If you ask today’s Indian generation to vote for their favourite Indian comedy actor, then Paresh raval will beat all listed top Indian comedians on this page. Though Paresh rawal earlier had played villains roles but lately he started playing comedy roles along with akshay kumar and sunil shetty. He made his mark as comedian in indian film industry with the role of Corrupt police officer in the movie MOHRA. The trio of Akshay kumar , Sunil shetty and paresh raval gave more comedy flick there after like Herapheri, Awara pagal diwana, Fir Herapheri, Diwane huye pagal and so on. Without doubt “Herapheri” is one of the best indian comedy movie ever made. And all credit must go to Paresh raval who played the role of Baburao. He lived the charactor. Today also if you imagine of Herapheri , not akshay kumar and sunil shetty but Paresh Rawal who played chamu , sharabi landlord will come to your mind. This is infact only film i have seen in which comedy actor cameout bigger than main actors. However that years filmfare award was won by Anupam kher for his 2 minute role in the film Mohabattein. While receiving Filmfare award for best comedian , Anupam kher on stage said that It is Paresh rawal who deserves to win this award for his great performance for Herapheri. Award or No Award , Paresh rawal has proved his mettle as a top indian comedian. Salute to you sir.
